La Dispute — the post-hardcore and spoken word-influenced outfit from Grand Rapids, MI — have returned with a brand new single “Environmental Catastrophe Film”, alongside a striking music video. The emotionally-charged track offers the first preview of their upcoming album No One Was Driving the Car, which is set for release on September 5th via Epitaph Records.
The new single blends the band’s signature vivid lyricism with tense, shifting dynamics and haunting instrumental layers. It continues their tradition of unpacking themes of loss, trauma, and societal collapse through poetic introspection and post-hardcore grit.
No One Was Driving the Car marks the band’s first full-length release since 2019’s Panorama and finds them again pushing sonic and thematic boundaries.
