Norwegian prog-metal visionaries Leprous recently stepped into the Musora studio for a new episode of Covers On The Spot — a series that challenges artists to craft a unique cover on the fly. The twist? The band doesn’t get to pick the song; Musora chooses it, often throwing musicians way outside their comfort zone.
This time, the selection hit close to home: fellow Norwegians A-ha and their iconic 1985 hit “Take On Me.” As it turns out, the choice wasn’t completely foreign territory for vocalist/keyboardist Einar Solberg, who had previously covered A-ha’s “Manhattan Skyline” with Ihsahn of Emperor fame.
Fans can watch the band’s full creative process — from brainstorming and arranging to their finished, prog-infused rendition — in the video below.
