Ligature Marks have premiered a sinister new music video for their latest single, “Weapons,” offering another taste of the group’s forthcoming sophomore album.
The track was recorded at Falcon Recording Studio with Gabe Johnston and features the talents of members of Vintersea, Syx, Inflict and Proven. According to vocalist Ben Charles, the band deliberately set out to create something unsettling with both the song and its accompanying visuals.
“We wanted to make something that felt dangerous, something that was truly evil, from the song itself to the visuals. This one isn’t meant to feel like a warm hug, it’s meant to make you feel uneasy.”
The accompanying clip was directed by Ligature Marks guitarist Karl Whinnery, who drew inspiration from some particularly dark imagery when developing the concept.
“I told the band, think serial killer’s crawlspace, with a dash of Sicario thrown in.”
“Weapons” is expected to serve as a preview of what Ligature Marks have in store on their upcoming sophomore full-length.
