Sick Of It All Vocalist Lou Koller Shares Update On Ongoing Cancer Battle

Sick Of It All frontman Lou Koller has offered a new update on his ongoing fight with cancer. The New York hardcore icon was first diagnosed with a tumor in his esophagus in June 2024, beginning a difficult and often unpredictable medical journey.

After undergoing treatment, Koller shared encouraging news earlier this year when he was declared cancer-free in May. However, that optimism was short-lived, as he revealed in September that the cancer had returned.

In a new video message posted to the band’s social media today (December 20th), Koller explained that his condition has currently reached what he described as a “stalemate.”

“The treatments are going okay. They’re not really doing much. I’m kind of at a stalemate, where the tumors aren’t growing, and they’re not spreading, but they’re not shrinking either,” Koller said. “So the plan is to keep going with the treatments and see what happens. And after that, we’ll make a new plan.”

Koller also took time to thank those closest to him for their support during this period, specifically acknowledging his brother Matt and sister-in-law Connie for caring for him and providing a place to stay throughout his treatment.

“I wanna thank all of you for all the positive messages, the prayers and all of the well wishes,” he added. “Keep ’em coming.”

Closing out his message, Koller shared warm holiday wishes with fans, expressing hope that the coming year brings better times for everyone.

A GoFundMe campaign established to help cover medical and related expenses remains active as Koller continues his treatment.
