Finnish alternative metal outfit LUNA KILLS have returned with a new music video for their latest single, “LOWER.” The track arrives as the band continue building momentum through their partnership with SharpTone Records.
The new song sees the quartet exploring themes of isolation, self-doubt and self-acceptance, pairing emotional lyricism with the band’s modern blend of alternative metal and atmospheric heaviness.
Speaking about the single, the band explained that “LOWER” focuses on the feeling of not belonging and the pressure that can come from both societal expectations and personal standards.
“The lyrics of the song are about dealing with the feeling that you don’t belong anywhere. You feel the weight of not fitting into the expectations that society or others have placed upon you, or even the expectations you have for yourself. It makes you question your reality, and at the same time, you slowly begin to feel like you’re fading away piece by piece and turning into someone you don’t recognize.
The song carries a theme — both in lyrics and music — about the contrast between the softness of accepting yourself and the world you have built around yourself and the crushing weight of a never leaving dread whispering whether you made the right choices.”
Musically, the track reflects that internal struggle, shifting between vulnerable passages and heavier moments that underscore the song’s emotional weight. The accompanying video further expands on those themes, offering a visual counterpart to the band’s latest release.
“LOWER” follows a series of recent singles from LUNA KILLS as the Finnish group continue to establish themselves as one of the emerging names in the European alternative metal scene.
