Lustmord Lombardo, the new collaboration between percussionist Dave Lombardo and Welsh industrial/ambient pioneer Lustmord, have unveiled their latest track, “The Desolate Shore Part I: Submergence.”
The song comes ahead of the duo’s debut album, ‘The Pulse Of Atoms’, which is scheduled for release on October 2 through Ipecac Recordings.
Lombardo, best known for his work with Mr. Bungle and as a founding member of Slayer, described the new composition as an immersive descent into darker territory, with shifting rhythms creating an intentionally unstable atmosphere.
“‘The Desolate Shore’ is a meditative landscape that feels like a slow descent into the abyss. There is a sense of the ground moving beneath you as shifting rhythms make it feel like nothing is ever completely still beneath the surface.”
“The Desolate Shore Part I: Submergence” offers another preview of the experimental direction the pair have taken with their forthcoming debut.
