Christian metalcore artist Magdalene Rose is speaking out after multiple tour dates tied to the ‘Y2K Reloaded Tour’ were either altered or canceled following pushback from churches and local religious communities.
Rose had been performing alongside Seventh Day Slumber, Jason Dunn (Hawk Nelson), and Nate Parrish (Kutless) earlier this year, with another leg of the tour scheduled to begin in May. However, controversy has emerged due to objections surrounding her heavier musical style and visual presentation.
According to a statement shared by Rose on April 9th, several churches hosting upcoming shows have requested her removal from the lineup—or in some cases, canceled events entirely.
One confirmed cancellation involves a May 17th stop at First Baptist Church in Granbury, Texas, which was reportedly pulled due to her involvement.

💪❤️🔥👑
Who cares about what the sound is like as long as the message is on point
Eric Stein that’s the point of standing up to it and calling it out.
Walter Faught that is the point. Trust me I know ow from first hand experience
Eric Stein …and it 100% is spot on!! 💜
Eric Stein it’s not anything that points to Christ from the songs I read, her music isn’t heavy at all, it’s the lyrics they didn’t like
Maybe leave the Cult and just be a decent human?
Someone has an expensive new publicist. This headline reads as a laundry list of things I hate in modern music. Christian rock? Check. Metalcore? Check. Female vocalist used as a gimmick? Check. 🤡🤡🤡
Joseph Black Moon well where’s your band lets hear your music
If you want to argue the merits of the music industry with me, you’re going to have to do better then an ad populum fallacy.
No shit, many modern Christians hate women. They wouldn’t say this to a man lol
#IStandWithMaggie
Then these Churches are false Christians. I’m a Metalhead/Rocker. I understand and I could separate the differences between Music Genres and Lyrics. If the Lyrics are Christian? It doesn’t matter how “Heavy” the sound is. Some of God’s children are Metalheads and Christian Music is still Christian Music no matter what Genre or Sub-genre it is. I listen to Christian Metal and Rock Music and I would never attend a Church full of false Christians as those are not God’s Churches because God’s Churches know who the children are God are ✝️
Joshua Dian Soto Perez so true. I’m 67 and remember this happening years ago.
How she’s being treated by some Churches is absolutely ridiculous but not that surprising when some Christians class The Letter Black, Skillet and other great Christian rock and metal bands as being influenced by Satan and people being influenced by demons uf they listen to metal music. Ridiculous and silly!
Alexander Darracott well they shouldn’t be book shows at Westboro baptist church i mean come on lol

Let’s be real, I love her music, but it’s not for everyone
Chris M Magee yeah. I’m not very familiar with her music, but her message is on target from what I understand. How heavy or fast or punk or melodic a band is, is not the issue. Styles vary. We used to go see Crucified, Living Sacrifice, Mlrtification, Vengeance, etc. If this is all about stylistic differences, that’s idiotic.
Chris M Magee Still not OK to boycott her.
that’s true but her music is not for everyone l I can respect that
The only thing abnormal here is that these churches booked for, she scheduled a tour and then once it started most of them canceled last minute, I hope her garentees are still in place.
why is this even being talked about these churches are holding events where they are hiring the musicians and they are fully entitled to hire whatever musician they choose. they did not go to an existing concert and boycott or demand should be removed from the stage. clearly this is just a marketing stunt

Mac Giolla Ghuala I don’t understand, it’s not discrimination of some kind. It’s people who are trying to entertain their demographic and this doesn’t line up with that. it’s not hate, clearly someone in that group liked their music because they initially asked her to play. And then they found out that it wasn’t as popular as they thought in that group. why is it news?
Adam Page I mean it is slightly discriminatory, but more so judgemental. Have you listened to her music? She has several songs that aren’t any heavier than seventh day slumber. Her appearance isn’t any more hard rock/metal looking than SDS. Also if what I read was true, she offered to even do an acoustic set with just her mellower songs. Listening to her album the other day made me want to listen to Hawk Nelson. Then I found out the lead singer for Hawk Nelson is on this tour. The churches absolutely have the right to have whatever bands they want to have at their church. And the ones that cancelled the entire show I don’t have so much issue with as the ones that asked just her to not play. But maybe don’t book shows if you don’t know the bands. Then we don’t have the world looking at them like they’re being judgemental of which type of Christians are welcome in their building. Side note, through all of this I’ve seen one person, not associated with the bands, list one of the churches that cancelled. None of the bands are calling out the churches by name. So at least they’re showing some class in that regard.
Adam Page
You would be correct in many instances. However, deliberately canceling a show after an agreement has been made is unethical and unacceptable without due cause. Magdalene Rose’s stage dress and style is an unacceptable due cause.
that’s why the artist usually receives a fee when a contract is canceled. as a performing artist, you don’t get to force customers to listen to you.
Adam Page you don’t know her& the tears she cried after finding this all out as soon as her & Blaise came home from their 2nd year wedding anniversary!!! This was NOT a publicity stunt– God knows this. If you read what she posted THAT is why it’s being talked about. Read her post & what happened. Then you will have the full picture& understand. It’s sad that the religious PHARI-sitic shirts still operate more than that in the churches. Her music is not for everyone but, she has the most beautiful soul & heart. She has personally saved my life & helped me through moments that no other believer even wanted to help me through!!!! She didn’t judge me when everyone else did. She told me I belonged when I expressed to her that I didn’t feel like I belonged anywhere on this earth. Many so called believers just walked past me as I was drowning & would scream at me “We are praying!!!!” & Keep walking by. She actually grabbed my hand& pulled me out of the water 🌊 so, she is a real one. I hope this information helps
but it’s for an audience, audience wanted to listen to what they wanna listen to that’s not discrimination they didn’t go to where she was performing and getting mad at it, they just prefer something else. I like the music, I’m not arguing against it. I’m just arguing that the people who don’t want to listen to it don’t have to.
The further ad perspective, I am a musician, and a songwriter. I love this style of music, but I understand that a bunch of old Baptist might not. I also imagine that some of their catalog totally fit the demographic. But some of it just won’t
Rodd and Todd scare easily
Maggie is a blessing I have seen her in concert multiple times she is very kind.
Couldn’t be any heavier than Skillet or Red or Brian Welch from Korn who we saw open for TFK once…now that was heavy!
Martin N Diane actually she is on some stuff! She married the son of a Seventh Day Slumber band member
She’s definitely heavier than Skillet lol
Martin N Diane Trust me. She is. I love it.
Martin N Diane or even the Christian deathmetal band Dying Fetus
What hypocrites i mean come on rockettown in pompano beach had bands like Vital remains and Dying fetus play their venue 😆
We should play Christ is king by impending doom in the parking lots Sunday morning…
DeSean Williams or Fall on Your Knees by Holy Name.
DeSean Williams yea alright
The churches that are saying the band is too heavy are a religious pharisees church cause as long as you’re preaching Jesus Christ then there’s nothing wrong with it and that’s the words of Paul if they’d read the Bible so using heavy worship music is still preaching Jesus so I wish Christians would stop being religious and actually be in relationship with Jesus instead of trying to be more holy than each other because they think they could trick got into liking them more. He loves us all the same. He died for each one of us so yeah heavy Christian music or Christian metal is not demonic or too heavy and a lot of of the mainstream Christian songs sound more like romance songs to a girl then to God.
Rich Quintana she’s not preaching Jesus, that’s why, Her band is not a Christian band, she’s a Christian in her secular band that’s ok , bit the lyrics don’t point to Christ at all, that’s why they probably didn’t book her , not their style of music, lyrics had everything to do with this
In the touring world, especially with Christian rock, a church often buys the headliner—in this case, Seventh Day Slumber—and the openers come as part of the contract. The church likely saw the “Y2K” branding, thought of the more radio-friendly sounds of the early 2000s (like Hawk Nelson or Kutless, whose members are on the tour), and signed the paperwork.
Once the “due diligence” happened—likely someone at the church Googling the bands or seeing a promo flyer—they hit a wall:
The Discovery: They see Magdalene Rose—the metalcore vocals, the alternative aesthetic, the “heavy” vibe—and realize it doesn’t match their sanctuary’s “brand” or their congregation’s expectations.
The Request: The church (or local promoter) usually asks, “Can we just have the other guys and skip the girl?”
The Ultimatum: The headliner (who, in this case, is her family) says, “No, we’re a package. If she doesn’t play, we don’t play.”
The Cancellation: The church, rather than dealing with the “noise” of a metalcore set or the potential backlash from their own members, exercises their right as the venue owner and pulls the plug on the whole night.
It’s a professional mismatch. The bands are framing it as a “ministry rejection,” but from the church’s chair, it’s simply: “This isn’t what we thought we were buying, and it doesn’t fit our house.”
Then, after a couple churches get a lot of pushback from the promoter and the headliners about cutting the opener, Magdalene Rose, it makes other churches realize it is just gonna be a big hassle. So they outright cancel the event. I lay it on Seventh Day Slumber and the promoters for not understanding that churches have a say in who they will allow on stage. I also lay it on all of YOU who are so judgmental of the churches that you act like there is some “Church Music Bill Of Rights” in the Bible!
Such ridiculousness. She’s metal. Metal is heavy.
This news has sparked quite a bit there.
Hello my friend! I wish to say that this article is awesome, great written and include approximately all important infos.
I’d like to look more posts like this .
Could it have something to do with the short skirts on an elevated stage and the profile pic showing buttcheek?
