Controversy Surrounds MARILYN MANSON’s Upcoming UK Halloween Show As Local Politician Urges Cancellation

Marilyn Manson’s return to the UK this fall is already stirring backlash—particularly his October 31st performance at Windsor Hall (Bournemouth International Centre) in Bournemouth, UK. The venue is operated by BH Live, under ownership of the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council, and one of the council’s leaders is now calling for the show to be canceled.

Millie Earl, the current council leader, has spoken out in opposition to Manson’s appearance, citing the artist’s troubled history of sexual assault and misconduct allegations as grounds for reconsideration. Earl stated that allowing Manson to perform would undercut the council’s ongoing efforts to support and protect women and girls in the community.

“I don’t feel Marilyn Manson reflects the values we have in BCP,” Earl told the BBC. “We’ve been doing a lot of work around things like the White Ribbon accreditation scheme, which helps men and boys change negative, damaging behaviours. So I have asked that BH Live reconsider hosting Marilyn Manson later this year.”

Manson faced a wave of accusations in 2021, with over a dozen women coming forward. His ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood publicly named him as her abuser, which led to a number of lawsuits, industry fallout, and him being dropped by his label, talent agency, and management. He has denied all allegations and has since reached settlements with two accusers, while one suit was voluntarily dismissed. However, two civil cases remain active—one from his former assistant and another dating back to alleged incidents in the late ‘90s.

Manson filed a defamation suit against Wood and her associate Ilma Gore, alleging the pair conspired to damage his career and reputation. That suit was later dropped by Manson in late 2023 following a series of courtroom setbacks.

After a four-year hiatus, Manson relaunched his musical career in 2024, performing live again and preparing to release his first album since the allegations. His upcoming European/UK tour currently includes the following dates:
