Marilyn Manson has finally brought a long-unplayed track to the stage. During his May 2nd headlining set at GLC Live at 20 Monroe in Grand Rapids, MI, the controversial shock rocker delivered the first-ever live performance of “Long Hard Road Out Of Hell”—nearly three decades after its original release.
Originally issued in 1997 as a collaboration with UK trip hop group Sneaker Pimps, the track first appeared on the Spawn: The Album soundtrack. That compilation, which followed in the genre-blending footsteps of Judgement Night, brought together artists from industrial, metal, nü-metal, and electronic backgrounds. The song’s title may also ring a bell for longtime fans, as Manson used it for his 1998 autobiography.
The Grand Rapids show marked the kickoff of Manson’s current tour and also featured the live debut of “Sacrilegious” from his upcoming comeback album One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1. In addition, it included the first live rendition of “Get Your Gunn” since 2014.
