Pioneering Norwegian black metal outfit Mayhem have been forced to cancel their planned 40th anniversary North American tour this month due to a medical emergency. That trek had been booked to run from November 12th through to November 23rd. A statement issued by the band on the matter today, November 06th, reads as follows:
“MAYHEM regrets to inform fans that the upcoming 40th anniversary performances in North America are cancelled due to a member of the band having a medical emergency that requires immediate surgery, which will result in a prolonged recovery period. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.”
Don’t worry, American and Canadian fans—Mayhem have something lined up for next year to make up for the disappointment. Expect an announcement that will more than compensate for the missed tour dates.
