Mayhem Unveil New Song “Life Is A Corpse You Drag” Ahead Of Upcoming Album

Norwegian black metal pioneers Mayhem have debuted a new song titled “Life Is A Corpse You Drag,” which is now streaming via an official visualizer. The track serves as the latest preview of the band’s forthcoming seventh studio album, Liturgy Of Death, due out on February 6.

Vocalist Attila Csihar offered a philosophical and ritualistic perspective on the song’s meaning, framing it as a meditation on existence, consciousness, and release rather than a simple statement:

“‘Life Is A Corpse You Drag’ is not a slogan, but a ritual and a realization. It names an ancient law: consciousness as burden, the body as vessel, faith as a seal on a grave already closed. There is no comfort in this recognition but there is release. If we have been dead all along, there is nothing left to lose. What remains is pure energy: movement without fear, presence without compromise, a victorious march into the final destruction.”

With the album’s release just weeks away, Mayhem are also preparing to return to the road. The band will launch their headlining ‘Death Over Europe Tour’ next month, with support from Marduk and Immolation.
