Work on Mayhem’s seventh studio album appears to be in full swing. Guitarist Teloch took to social media this week to explain his recent online absence, citing intense focus on the band’s upcoming material.
“My excuse for not being active on here for the last months: Working on the new Mayhem. I need to focus. My brain is fried. Guitars, bass, drum beats, vocal guides, effects, synths yadayada. #deadlines”, he wrote.
The Norwegian black metal legends have been quietly developing new music over the past year. Back in November, bassist Jørn “Necrobutcher” Stubberud revealed the band had already compiled around 20 song ideas for the follow-up to their 2019 album Daemon.
There’s no confirmed release date just yet, but all signs point to progress deep in the shadows.
