Megadeth were recently honored by the city of La Vergne, Tennessee, as mayor Jason Cole proclaimed Saturday, January 17th, “Megadeth Day.” The tribute coincided with a special live/listening event the band hosted in the city, dubbed “Let There Be Shred” in celebration of their latest single of the same name.
The band received the official proclamation at La Vergne City Hall the day prior, according to WKRN. The recognition reflects frontman Dave Mustaine’s longstanding ties to Tennessee, where he has resided for over a decade.
Fans will have another milestone to look forward to this week, as Megadeth’s final studio album, Megadeth, is set for release this Friday, January 23rd.
