Thrash metal titans Megadeth are nearing the finish line on their long-awaited seventeenth studio album. In a new update shared today, June 10th, frontman Dave Mustaine confirmed that vocal tracking is officially underway—often the final major step before mixing and mastering.
The forthcoming record is being laid down with returning producer Chris Rakestraw (Danzig, Parkway Drive), who also worked on 2016’s Dystopia and 2022’s The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead!. Recording sessions kicked off back in November and have steadily progressed over the past several months.
Importantly, this upcoming album will mark the first full-length release from Megadeth to feature guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, who joined the band in 2023 following the departure of longtime axeman Kiko Loureiro.
The yet-to-be-titled effort will see release through Tradecraft/BLKBLKII, with more details expected to surface in the coming months.

I’m surprised Mustaine had time to take a break from writing more of Metallica’s riffs, to put together a new Megadeth album.
Cory Harrison nah he’s too busy playing all of his songs in E flat so his weak voice can maybe sing to it.
