Megadeth have premiered their latest single, “Puppet Parade,” serving as the apparent final preview of their self-titled farewell studio album, set for release this Friday, January 23rd.
The thrash metal icons recently kicked off their farewell touring cycle in support of this final record. That tour is expected to run for several years, reportedly spanning three to five, as frontman Dave Mustaine and the band prepare to retire from live performance.
The decision to step back comes in part due to Mustaine’s ongoing battle with Dupuytren’s contracture, a progressive condition affecting the mobility of his hands and fingers. Despite this challenge, Megadeth continue to deliver their signature blend of complex riffs, blistering solos, and politically charged lyrics in both recordings and live performances.
Fans can stream “Puppet Parade” now on all major digital platforms ahead of the album’s release later this week.
