Italian doom metal outfit Messa have unveiled a new live video for “Reveal”, filmed during the band’s appearance at this year’s Freak Valley Festival in Netphen, Germany.
The footage was captured by legendary German music program Rockpalast during Messa’s June 5, 2026 performance at the annual festival. The band have now shared the resulting performance online, giving fans a professionally filmed look at their set.
Messa expressed particular excitement over having their performance recorded by Rockpalast, highlighting the program’s long history of documenting live music and its extensive archive of performances.
“Our concert at Freak Valley Festival, back in June this year, was filmed by the legendary Rockpalast. Founded in the 1970s in West Germany, it’s a show broadcasting live music.”
The band continued by reflecting on the wide range of artists and genres featured throughout Rockpalast’s history.
“Hundreds of bands performed Rockpalast, spanning through various genres. From Rory Gallagher, Kraftwerk and Can, to majestic krautrock, early electronic music, jazz, funk, heavy metal… you name it.”
Messa went on to describe the archive as a significant resource for European music fans, while explaining why being included in it was particularly meaningful to them.
“It’s basically one of the biggest existing (and free) archives of European music. Countless are the hours of our own time we spent watching videos of incredible musicianship portrayed in this show. When we got to know we’d be filmed by Rockpalast, you can easily imagine our enthusiasm.”
