CAVALERA Partner With ‘Street Fighter 6’ For New Zangief-Inspired Track “Piledriver”

Brazilian metal legends Max and Iggor Cavalera have teamed up with Capcom for a new collaboration tied to the latest Street Fighter 6 DLC. The duo’s band Cavalera have released a new song, “Piledriver,” written in tribute to the game’s powerhouse wrestler Zangief.

The thrashy new track coincides with tomorrow’s (October 15th) release of Zangief’s Outfit 4 DLC and even includes free in-game cosmetic gear featuring the Cavalera logo. Sonically, the track channels early ’90s industrial energy, seemingly nodding to classic Ministry influences.

The collaboration came to life through Street Fighter director Takayuki Nakayama, a longtime fan of the Cavalera brothers’ work. He shared his enthusiasm about the project:

“Having grown up listening to Sepultura, Soulfly, and Cavalera Conspiracy, I never imagined that one day I would work with heroes like Max and Iggor. When I found out they had accepted the job — bands I loved since my school days — our sound team, made up of other metal lovers, and I went absolutely wild with joy.

They showed us their raw and unique worldview in ‘Morbid Visions’, made history with ‘Chaos A.D.’, collaborated with my equally beloved Mike Patton on ‘Roots’ (my favorite album), and gave me so much motivation when I heard “Back To The Primitive” by Soulfly. What I’m trying to say is that I am truly and deeply grateful! Thank you.”
