Metallica have released an early rough cut version of their 1998 music video for “Fuel.”
Directed by Wayne Isham, the alternate edit features unused hot rod footage that did not appear in the final cut of the original video. The clip is part of the upcoming deluxe ‘ReLoad’ box set, which includes a wide range of bonus material spanning more than a dozen discs.
The expanded edition of ReLoad is scheduled to arrive on June 26, revisiting one of the band’s most debated eras while spotlighting tracks that have since become fan staples. “Fuel” in particular has remained a consistent presence in Metallica’s live sets and is among their most streamed songs.
Frontman James Hetfield is also known for his long-standing interest in classic cars, having previously showcased parts of his personal collection.
