Midnight Announce Covers Album “Steel, Rust And Disgust,” Share “Cleveland Metal” Video

Midnight are set to unleash their latest album, Steel, Rust And Disgust, on May 23rd via Metal Blade Records. The one-man blackened speed metal act, helmed by Athenar, has crafted a collection of covers paying homage to bands from his birthplace, along with two brand-new tracks.

Explaining the concept behind the release, Athenar shared:

“The idea to record an album of all cover jams with a certain theme is nothing quite new. The original title was going to be Throw Ups as a nod to David Bowie’s Pin Ups, but that didn’t quite fit. I just wanted to record some songs by bands who shared the same sights, sounds, and sewage of my region of birth. Some of these tunes you may have heard, some you may not. So please, do yourself a favor and check out the original versions… if you want to transform into a total fucking slimebag, that is!”

Among the tracks is Cleveland Metal, one of the album’s original songs, which now has a music video directed by David Brodsky (Cattle Decapitation, The Black Dahlia Murder).
