Atmospheric metalcore newcomers Midwinter have unveiled their sophomore album ‘A Love I Hope Will Haunt Me Forever’, releasing the record alongside two new music videos.
The album arrived on April 16th through Papercut Recordings, the label launched by members of Brand Of Sacrifice and Fit For A King.
Leading the release is a video for “Eager Tides,” directed by Father Seabear. Fans can also check out a second new visual for “Hourglass,” which was helmed by Sam Grossman.
Speaking about the album, the band said the material was shaped by grief, emotional fallout, and the difficult process of coping with loss.
“This album came from a really personal place for us. It’s about losing someone you love and trying to make sense of everything that comes after; the doubt, the anger, the quiet moments where it all sinks in.”
They also explained that the record pushed them into more adventurous territory musically.
“Sonically, we let ourselves experiment and push into heavier, stranger territory, somewhere between progressive metalcore and thall with a specific emphasis on sound design.”
The release marks an important early milestone for Midwinter, who officially joined Papercut Recordings earlier this year.
