Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, etc. vocalist Mike Patton is set to make three appearances on The Avalanches’ forthcoming fourth studio album, “No Bad Memories.”
The Australian electronic outfit have recruited Patton for the tracks “Total Recall,” “Superfun™ TV Spot” — which also features actor Haley Joel Osment — and “Paradise Island,” which features Khadija Al Hanafi alongside Patton.
Patton revealed the collaboration earlier this week, sharing his enthusiasm for finally working with the group:
“I have been an Avalanches fan for a long time and was honored to be asked to be part of their new album, NO BAD MEMORIES, where you’ll find me on 3 tracks. Out October 16th!”
The Avalanches have since unveiled the complete track listing for the sprawling 31-song digital edition of “No Bad Memories,” which features an extensive cast of collaborators. Among the other guests are Karen O, Jamie xx, Rivers Cuomo, Panda Bear, Carly Simon, Barry Can’t Swim, Erick the Architect, Ryoji Ikeda, Suzanne Ciani, John Glacier and more.
The album is the follow-up to 2020’s “We Will Always Love You” and is scheduled for an October 16 release. The physical editions will contain 28 tracks, with several songs exclusive to the digital version, while “Evergreen Altar” is exclusive to the physical formats.
