Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen has officially revealed when and where he plans to bring the influential industrial metal band’s career to a close.
Jourgensen announced last year that Ministry would be retired following the conclusion of their current touring cycle, which is supporting the group’s forthcoming final studio album, “Hate To Go – Take Out Or Delivery.” The record is scheduled to arrive this Friday, October 30, 2026.
Now, Jourgensen has confirmed that he intends to bring the band’s latest chapter to an end exactly one year later, with a final performance scheduled for October 30, 2027, at the KIA Forum in Inglewood, California.
Jourgensen has previously insisted that this retirement will be permanent, stating that he has no intention of following the example of KISS and repeatedly returning to the stage. Still, some fans may remain skeptical given that Ministry previously called it quits in 2008 before reuniting in 2011.
During a new interview with Licorice Pizza Records, Jourgensen was asked whether he expects to feel sad when the band finally takes its last bow. His response suggests he is already looking forward to what comes next.
“No. I’m gonna be in my fucking house before they even let people backstage. Bill Burr will helicopter me home. And that night, a lot of people that have said that I’ve influenced them and all that, the whole night is gonna be a procession of just people saying goodbye… But the last show’s gonna be a lot of people you know that are gonna be saying ‘hey’ and jamming with us, and it’ll be fun… It’ll be a fun last show.”
The planned KIA Forum performance will mark the end of a career that has spanned decades and helped shape the industrial metal landscape. For now, Jourgensen appears committed to making this farewell stick.
