In a turn of events many thought would never happen, Ministry are revisiting their early synth-pop era with a new album and tour. Band founder Al Jourgensen, who once described With Sympathy as a traumatic experience due to label interference, has seemingly had a change of heart, as evidenced by last year’s ‘Cruel World‘ festival performance.
Now, the industrial metal pioneers are set to release The Squirrely Years Revisited on March 28th. The album features newly reworked and re-recorded versions of classic tracks from that era, accompanied by a series of music videos.
Jourgensen commented on the project:
“Since I hated my early stuff for decades, I decided to take ownership of it and do it right.”
The updated tracklist includes:
01 – “Work For Love”
02 – “Here We Go”
03 – “All Day”
04 – “Everyday Is Halloween”
05 – “Revenge”
06 – “I’m Not An Effigy”
07 – “I’m Falling”
08 – “Same Old Madness”
09 – “I’ll Do Anything For You”
10 – “Just Like You” (CD-only bonus track)
11 – “We Believe” (CD-only bonus track)
12 – “Over The Shoulder” (CD-only bonus track)
Live celebrations of this material will continue with The Squirrely Years Tour, set to kick off in late April. Al Jourgensen will be joined on stage by:
- John Bechdel (keyboards)
- Monte Pittman (guitars)
- Cesar Soto (guitars)
- Paul D’Amour (bass)
- Pepe Clarke Magañ (drums)
