Ministry is revisiting their synth-pop roots with an upcoming album titled The Squirrely Years Revisited, which reimagines the band’s early tracks. Vocalist Al Jourgensen had long distanced himself from this phase of Ministry’s history, citing dissatisfaction with the external influence on his music at the time. He even went as far as to call the band’s 1983 debut album With Sympathy a work that “traumatized me for years.”
However, in recent years, Jourgensen has shifted his perspective on those early works, and rather than disowning them, he has re-recorded and reinterpreted them in a way that better aligns with his artistic vision. The Squirrely Years Revisited is set to release next Friday, March 28th, offering a fresh take on the songs that helped shape Ministry‘s early identity.
One of the standout tracks from Ministry‘s early catalog is Everyday Is Halloween, and fans can now stream the newly reworked ‘Squirrely Version’ of the song below.
