Australian metalcore outfit Mirrors have officially joined the Greyscale Records roster, with the band’s sophomore album ‘The Red Sky’ now set for release on November 27.
The upcoming record finds the group turning its attention toward the moments that can fundamentally alter a person’s life. Rather than focusing solely on the destruction left behind by those experiences, Mirrors also explore how hardship can create an opportunity for growth and change.
Mirrors collectively explained:
“In different times in everyone’s lives, we all experience these moments. Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, an individual who breaks us down or a literal force of nature that leaves us wondering what we have left. However, these moments also present the opportunity to grow, discover something new and build something to withstand the next storm.”
The band has also introduced ‘The Red Sky’ with its opening track, “Devil’s Due,” which has arrived alongside a new music video directed by Colin Jeffs, whose previous credits include work with Northlane and To The Grave.
Lyrically, “Devil’s Due” focuses on confronting the forces that can push someone toward self-destruction. Those forces can come from another person whose influence brings out destructive tendencies, or from an internal voice that gradually takes control.
At its core, the track is about recognizing the people, influences and parts of ourselves that may need to be left behind in order to move forward.
‘The Red Sky’ will feature 11 tracks, beginning with “Devil’s Due” and closing with “End Of Days.”
