Horror punk icons Misfits have achieved a major milestone in their storied career, landing their first-ever gold-certified singles in the United States. The RIAA has officially awarded gold status to “Last Caress,” “Hybrid Moments,” and “Dig Up Her Bones,” with the certifications dated January 28th.
Despite their towering influence on punk, hardcore, and metal culture, the band had previously received just one RIAA honor: a gold certification for their 1996 self-titled box set, issued back in April of 2008. These new accolades mark the first time individual Misfits songs have crossed the 500,000-unit threshold.
The certifications arrive years after the long-running estrangement between key members was resolved. In 2016, founding vocalist Glenn Danzig reunited with bassist Jerry Only and guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, launching a run of high-profile performances under the banner of The Original Misfits—a move that reignited mainstream attention on the band’s legacy.

So Last Caress and Hybrid Moments were never released as singles, so how the fuck can they be certified gold singles, when those singles dont actually exist?
