Modern Life Is War have unleashed “Bloodsport,” the third single from their upcoming record Life On The Moon. It’s been over a decade since the Iowa hardcore legends last delivered a full-length, and this latest track proves their fire still burns.
Frontman Jeff Eaton says the song’s opening riff “rides on the dystopian Dead Kennedys’ violent wave,” with his vocals striking like a match to gasoline. Written in one furious late-night session, Eaton kept the lyrics raw and uncompromising—turning rage into a rallying cry for art, kindness, and community, and a stand against hate “violently only if necessary.”
The full album arrives September 5th via Deathwish Inc. and Iodine Recordings. The band will also embark on a fall run, including shows marking 20 years of their seminal sophomore LP Witness.
