Mutoid Man have publicly called attention to what they believe are noticeable similarities between their 2023 track “Call Of The Void” and the newly unveiled official theme for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The sludge/psych rock supergroup—featuring members of Cave In, Converge, and High On Fire—shared a post on social media on July 2 comparing the two songs, specifically highlighting what they feel is a familiar vocal melody.
Alongside the comparison, the band wrote:
“Hey @fifaworldcup that vocal line sure sounds familiar. #goalofthevoid”
Mutoid Man stopped short of making any direct accusations beyond the tongue-in-cheek post, instead encouraging fans to compare the two songs for themselves.
The band’s 2023 track “Call Of The Void” appears on their latest studio album, while FIFA’s newly released anthem will serve as the official theme for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
