Reunited progressive metal outfit Nevermore have offered fans another look at their new frontman, Berzan Önen. The band confirmed earlier this month that Önen (Inner Urge, My Torment, etc.) would be stepping into the vocalist role once held by the late Warrel Dane.
Now, the group have shared footage of Önen’s original audition from January 2025. In the clip, he performs “Born,” taken from Nevermore’s 2005 album This Godless Endeavor, showcasing his take on one of the band’s more dynamic and technically demanding tracks.
Önen’s addition marks a new era for Nevermore as they move forward while honoring the legacy left behind by Dane. The newly surfaced audition video provides the first glimpse into how Önen initially approached the material that ultimately helped him secure the coveted spot behind the mic.
