Progressive metal pioneers Nevermore have released official live footage from their long-awaited return to the stage, capturing their performance of “Born” during their April 1st, 2026 reunion show in Istanbul, Turkey.
The performance marked the band’s first live appearance since 2011 and also served as the debut outing for their newly rebuilt lineup.
The revival of Nevermore was spearheaded by guitarist Jeff Loomis and drummer Van Williams, who began reconstructing the band in 2024 through open auditions following years of uncertainty surrounding the group’s future. With original vocalist Warrel Dane having passed away in 2017, attention naturally turned to who would step into the frontman role.
That responsibility ultimately went to Berzan Önen (Inner Urge, My Torment), a choice that has already been met with largely positive reception from fans. The updated lineup also features guitarist Jack Cattoi and bassist Semir Özerka (Oceans of Slumber, Necrofier).
The newly released footage shows the band delivering “Born,” which served as the first of two encore tracks during their Istanbul set—an emotional and symbolic moment for a group returning after more than a decade away.
