Northlane have announced several changes to their upcoming release and touring schedule, including a delay for their seventh studio album, ‘Anemoia’, and the postponement of their Australian and New Zealand tour. The Australian progressive metalcore band have also shared a new single, “Deathwish,” ahead of its originally planned release schedule.
Originally slated to arrive on October 30, ‘Anemoia’ will now be released on November 27, 2026, following production delays. The band’s Melbourne listening party has also been moved to November 20, with existing tickets remaining valid. According to Northlane, attendees at the event will be the first to hear the album in full.
The touring changes come as guitarist and vocalist Josh Smith faces significant health challenges. In a statement, the band explained that Smith has experienced rapidly worsening chronic health issues over the past two years and now requires immediate medical intervention. His recovery and rehabilitation will prevent him from traveling or performing for the time being.
As a result, Northlane have moved their Australian and New Zealand tour to May 2027, with the new dates expected to be announced soon. Previously purchased tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled shows.
The band acknowledged the impact the changes could have on fans who had already made plans, while emphasizing that Smith’s health must take priority.
“These decisions have been incredibly tough to make. Delivering the full experience to you matters to us, and we don’t take decisions like this lightly.”
Northlane also confirmed that their UK and European tour with Dayseeker later this year and their North American headline tour early next year will proceed as planned.
In the meantime, fans can hear “Deathwish” now. The single arrives early as a thank-you to listeners for their continued support amid the schedule changes, and is accompanied by an official visualizer.
