Sludge metal supergroup Old Man Gloom—featuring members of Converge, Cave In, SUMAC, and more—have announced a trio of live shows this April. While the opening date is still to be announced, the band will follow it with two shows in the Pacific Northwest.
Old Man Gloom – April Shows:
04/23 TBA – TBA
04/24 Vancouver, BC – The Pearl (feat. Erosion & Trigger Object)
04/25 Seattle, WA – Substation (feat. Jaye Jayle & Kole Galbraith)
The band, who last performed in 2022, are also set to appear at Fire In The Mountains, running July 23–26 at Red Eagle Campground in East Glacier, MT.
In a statement, Old Man Gloom conveyed their dramatic return in characteristic style:
“Rejoice! Though these lands may rife with despair, the spirit of Old Man Gloom is resurrected once more to sew seeds of pleasure and joy!! Do not wallow in the shadow of false prophets and nefarious brigands — join together with us that we may commune with the sacred light of being — together we shall moan in triumph over darkness and decay!!
We shall bellow our here-ness, an emanation of our living-ness, and display most powerfully our intent to overcome adversity and fear-mongering. The brown, white and somewhat greying adepts of Gloom welcome you into our warm and holy embrace! Together we shall Gloom! Together we will rise, not in torment, but in radiant love and aural flatulence! Come sisters and brothers near and far, the time is night!!!”
