OMNIUM GATHERUM Premiere New Song and Video “The Last Hero”

Finnish melodic death metal veterans Omnium Gatherum have officially released “The Last Hero”, the first single from their forthcoming tenth studio album, May The Bridges We Burn Light The Way. The record is set to arrive later this year via Century Media, though a specific release date has yet to be announced.

The video for the track was once again directed by Jari Heino, a frequent visual collaborator with the band.

Guitarist Markus Vanhala shared the following on the song:

“‘The Last Hero’ gives a great preview of the new album, promising more force and groove than the previous one. It’s a powerful OG anthem about an old-school street hero who never gives up and who keeps on fighting for the sake of fighting. This relentless attitude, while admirable, also means missing out on seeing and solving situations beyond the immediate fight. It’s a theme that is easily reflected in our modern lives.”

Vocalist Jukka Pelkonen added:

“‘The Last Hero’ is a fast-paced, straightforward, melodic, and aggressive song with a catchy chorus. It’s a powerful track that really packs a punch. Lyrically, it tells the story of a person who, for better or worse, never gives up.”

The track arrives alongside the announcement of a European/UK headlining tour, where Omnium Gatherum will be joined by Fallujah and In Mourning. The tour kicks off in February 2026 and runs through mid-March:
