Melodic hardcore outfit One Step Closer have announced their next full-length album, ‘Zero,’ which is set to arrive on February 19 through Run For Cover Records.
Alongside the announcement, the band have unveiled two new songs, “Blue Hour” and “Was It Ever Enough?,” paired together in a newly released music video. Derek Rathbun (Rev3rent, Terror) co-directed the video with the band.
Vocalist Ryan Savitski opened up about the difficult experiences that helped shape the record, explaining how those emotions informed its songs while leaving room for listeners to find their own meaning in the material.
“This may have been the hardest year for us, and that’s reflected in the songs. There’s so much desperation on this record, but I think people can relate to that — these songs will always mean something different to me than everyone else. No one is living the same exact experiences, but I want people to take these songs and mold them to fit their own.”
‘Zero’ will feature 10 tracks, including guest appearances from Pat Flynn of Fiddlehead on “About a Boy” and Isaac Hale of Knocked Loose on “A Fleeting Face.”
The complete track listing is as follows:
- “Numb With Sleep”
- “Until You Bloom”
- “About a Boy” (feat. Pat Flynn of Fiddlehead)
- “August”
- “Blue Hour”
- “Write My Wrongs”
- “Drowning Skies”
- “Was It Ever Enough?”
- “A Fleeting Face” (feat. Isaac Hale of Knocked Loose)
- “For Them”
