New Jersey thrash metal veterans Overkill are well underway on their next studio release, having already completed ten songs for what will become their 21st full-length album.
Speaking in a new interview with SLAM: Music Survival Guide, frontman Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth confirmed the progress, saying:
“We’re 10 songs deep. I expect to be recording by January, and let’s see — let’s see what happens from there.”
Ellsworth did note that the band’s timeline could be affected by bassist D.D. Verni’s ongoing shoulder issues following surgery and injury, potentially delaying recording plans depending on his recovery.
If completed as planned, the record will serve as the follow-up to 2023’s ‘Scorched’, continuing the band’s decades-long run as one of thrash metal’s most enduring acts.
