British nü-gazers OVERSIZE have officially entered a new era with the arrival of vocalist Nick Nowak, who makes his debut with the band on their new single “Separate.”
Released through SharpTone Records, the track serves as Nowak’s introduction following the departure of former vocalist Sam McCauley. The accompanying music video was directed by Murry Deaves, whose previous work includes videos for Employed To Serve and Love Is Noise.
The band says the lineup change has also opened the door to a fresh creative direction following the release of their debut album.
“We’re incredibly excited to start this new chapter, not just with a new member but also with a new creative outlook, after releasing our debut record we have a much better understanding of who we are as musicians and as a band – and we’re so happy to share a little part of what we’ve been working on.”
OVERSIZE also revealed that “Separate” was completed shortly before they entered the studio to begin recording, ultimately forcing its way into the album plans.
“This first single was actually the last song we wrote before heading into the studio to record, we finished it about a week before and despite thinking we had our minds set on which tracks we were going to track, it was abundantly clear we had to do this one, that’s just the way it goes sometimes I guess!”
OVERSIZE will next hit the road across Europe and the UK as the opening act for The Devil Wears Prada, Novelists and 156/Silence.
