Ovtlier Postpone Remaining Headlining Dates Citing Financial Strain

Metalcore outfit Ovtlier (also known as Outlier) have announced the postponement of their remaining headlining shows, pointing to ongoing financial pressures and unexpected costs incurred while on the road.

In a statement shared on May 10th, the band detailed the circumstances behind the decision, including rising travel expenses, the need to replace essential touring equipment mid-run, and the strain of continuing the trek without compromising their touring crew.

The band wrote:

“THIS IS ONE OF THE HARDEST POSTS WE’VE HAD TO MAKE

AFTER A SERIES OF UNEXPECTED SETBACKS ON THIS TOUR — INCLUDING HAVING TO PURCHASE A NEW TRAILER MID-RUN, SKYROCKETING TRAVEL COSTS, AND THE OVERALL FINANCIAL STRAIN OF STAYING ON THE ROAD — WE’VE MADE THE INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT DECISION TO CANCEL OUR REMAINING HEADLINE SHOWS.

WE FOUGHT HARD TO AVOID THIS. WE EXPLORED EVERY POSSIBLE OPTION TO KEEP PUSHING FORWARD, BUT THE REALITY IS THAT CONTINUING WOULD LEAVE US UNABLE TO PROPERLY SUPPORT AND PAY THE CREW THAT WORKS TIRELESSLY BESIDE US EVERY SINGLE DAY. AND THAT’S NOT SOMETHING WE’RE WILLING TO COMPROMISE ON. THE GAP FROM THE LAST DATE OF THE REDEMPTION TOUR TO OUR FIRST HEADLINER WOULD COST US AN ADDITIONAL FEW THOUSAND THAT WE UNFORTUNATELY DO NOT HAVE.

TO EVERY FAN WHO BOUGHT TICKETS, SHARED OUR MUSIC, OR PLANNED TO SPEND A NIGHT WITH US WE ARE DEEPLY SORRY. THIS BAND MEANS EVERYTHING TO US, AND CANCELING SHOWS IS NEVER SOMETHING WE TAKE LIGHTLY. WE KNOW PEOPLE SPEND THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY AND TIME TO SUPPORT US, AND THAT IS NEVER LOST ON US.

TO THE PROMOTERS, VENUES, AND EVERYONE INVOLVED BEHIND THE SCENES: THANK YOU FOR BELIEVING IN US AND WORKING WITH US. WE SINCERELY HOPE THIS IS ONLY A POSTPONEMENT AND THAT WE’LL BE ABLE TO COME BACK STRONGER AND MAKE THESE DATES HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE.

RIGHT NOW, WE NEED TO REGROUP, RECOVER FINANCIALLY, AND MAKE SURE WE CAN CONTINUE BUILDING THIS BAND THE RIGHT WAY — SUSTAINABLY, HONESTLY, AND WITHOUT LEAVING OUR PEOPLE BEHIND.

The band added that their focus now is on regrouping financially and ensuring future touring remains sustainable for both the group and their crew.
