Ozzy Osbourne Reveals He “Can’t Walk” Amid Ongoing Battle With Parkinson’s Disease

It’s been public knowledge that Ozzy Osbourne has faced severe health challenges in recent years, which have kept him from touring and performing live. His health took a major hit after a fall in early 2019, which aggravated previous injuries from a 2003 ATV crash that led to the insertion of steel rods in his body. The fall required several surgeries, resulting in nerve damage and other lingering side effects.

In late 2023, Osbourne underwent one final spinal surgery after trying every other option, but it was also revealed that his long battle with Parkinson’s disease has worsened, progressively affecting his mobility and balance.

While Osbourne has made limited stage appearances since the pandemic and his fall, he has been seated and propped up with a back brace mounted to the floor. His second induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in October 2024 saw him remain seated and not perform.

However, in a surprise announcement, Osbourne revealed a Black Sabbath reunion and farewell show, complete with a final solo live performance. Although the reunion will be a proper sendoff, fans should not expect the high-energy Ozzy of old, considering his current health issues.

Sharon Osbourne, speaking with The Sun, confirmed that Ozzy’s Parkinson’s disease has been affecting his legs, stating:

“Parkinson’s is a progressive disease. It’s not something you can stabilize. It affects different parts of the body and it’s affected his legs. But his voice is as good as it’s ever been.”

On his SiriusXM radio show this week, Osbourne admitted that he can no longer walk without assistance, explaining:

“I have made it to 2025. I can’t walk, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive. I may be moaning that I can’t walk but I look down the road and there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me and didn’t make it.”

The Black Sabbath farewell show will take place at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK on July 05th, with all proceeds benefiting Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.

In addition to a performance by the original Black Sabbath lineup (Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward), Osbourne is set to perform a short solo set of fan favorites. The farewell show will also feature performances by:

• Lamb Of God
• Anthrax
• Mastodon

An all-star jam led by Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) will also take place, with the following confirmed participants:
