PANOPTICON Release Benefit EP ‘The Poppies Bloom For No King’

Panopticon, the acclaimed black metal project of Austin Lunn, has unveiled a new benefit EP titled The Poppies Bloom For No King. The release spans just over 20 minutes, featuring the title track alongside a re-recorded version of “Speaking.”

Lunn announced that 75% of all proceeds from the EP will be donated to support families affected by ICE-led deportations in the United States. Sharing his intent behind the release, he emphasized that the music and artwork are not a call to violence, but rather an expression of compassion and frustration toward growing authoritarianism and ongoing immigration raids.

Austin Lunn explained:

“The song was written in frustration while the USA engaged in mass deportation of immigrants, as well as dropping massive bombs over a distant nation. The point of this EP for me is to express and process emotions in a constructive way while also raising money for those in need. As such, 75% of money made from this EP will go to help families affected by ICE deportations with legal defense. This is an issue close to my heart as I have many immigrant and multicultural friends, and Bek and I both have lived abroad at times in our lives.”

The EP also features a powerful spoken-word contribution written by Lunn’s close friend Bamse, a Persian American who shared his own immigration story and its connection to the current political climate.

The Poppies Bloom For No King is available now, with proceeds directly aiding those impacted by immigration crackdowns.
