Pantera may be bringing a stacked lineup of Southern metal heavyweights to New Orleans, Louisiana, with a new teaser appearing to reveal the lineup for a rumored event dubbed The Great NOLA Trendkill.
Earlier this month, Pantera teased an upcoming “heavy” live event in New Orleans. The announcement generated plenty of speculation, particularly given vocalist Phil Anselmo’s deep ties to the city.
Now, Live Nation New Orleans appears to have added another piece to the puzzle.
Over the weekend, Live Nation shared a teaser for an event called The Great NOLA Trendkill, a clear nod to Pantera’s 1996 album The Great Southern Trendkill. The artwork also featured what appeared to be a modified version of Lakefront Arena.
More notably, several artists were tagged in the post, seemingly pointing toward a potential lineup for the yet-to-be-announced event.
The artists reportedly tagged include:
- Pantera
- Down
- Crowbar
- Corrosion Of Conformity
- Eyehategod
- Power Trip
- Pig Destroyer
- Herkaleion
- Rade
If the teaser is indeed announcing the lineup, The Great NOLA Trendkill would bring together an impressive collection of acts with deep connections to the Southern metal scene, alongside Pantera and other established heavy music names.
The event has yet to receive an official announcement confirming the lineup, date, or additional details. For now, fans will have to wait and see whether the teased Great NOLA Trendkill becomes a reality.
Given the names involved, however, New Orleans could be in for a particularly heavy day.
