Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix is promising fans a major return to the band’s roots with their newly finished track “Clickbait”, which he claims is the most nü-metal song they’ve ever written — including their early 2000s breakout material.
Speaking with Magenta TV, Shaddix stated:
“We’ve got another track we just finished up called ‘Clickbait’, and it’s the most ‘nü-metal’ song we’ve ever written in our career, even from back in 2000. It’s got this vibe about it that’s just — it’s on another level, man. I’m excited for the fans to hear that one.”

While many still point to “Last Resort” as a defining nü-metal anthem, it appears the band believes “Clickbait” ups the ante.
The song is expected to appear on the group’s upcoming twelfth studio album, currently set for release sometime in 2026. According to Shaddix, fans can expect another new single to drop before the end of 2025.
Last week, Papa Roach released a music video for their latest single “Braindead”, which features a guest spot from Toby Morse of H2O.
