TesseracT’s Daniel Tompkins And Chimp Spanner Launch Prince Of Failure, Stream “Horizon”

A new progressive metal collaboration has emerged as Daniel Tompkins and Paul Ortiz officially unveil Prince Of Failure.

The project pairs the TesseracT vocalist with the Chimp Spanner mastermind for a self-titled debut album that will arrive on June 19th through Kscope.

According to the duo, the foundation for the project began nearly a decade ago, with ideas slowly developing into a full-length release over several years.

To introduce the record, Prince Of Failure have shared the first single “Horizon,” which features guest vocals from Kristyn Hope of Daedric.

Tompkins said of the track:

“‘Horizon’ captures the moment where everything feels like it’s collapsing around you, but something inside is still pushing you forward.”

He added that within the broader concept of the album, the song represents a turning point for its protagonist and praised Hope’s contribution for adding another emotional layer.

The accompanying video was produced by Michael Levine using Unreal Engine, with additional effects work by Richard Oakes.

A press statement described the album as a deeply personal body of work centered on neurodivergence, masking, and the psychological strain of living outside expectations.
