Bristol-based nü-metal outfit Profiler have released their latest single “Shadow,” accompanied by a new music video exploring themes drawn from Jungian psychology.

The track takes inspiration from Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung and his concept of the “shadow self,” which refers to the hidden or repressed aspects of human personality.

Frontman Mike Evans describes the song as a confrontation with the inner critic, framing it as a dialogue with the parts of ourselves that are often avoided but ultimately require acknowledgment and understanding.

A press statement further expands on the concept, explaining that the “shadow” represents the suppressed, denied, and unseen elements of identity, with Profiler translating that idea into a heavy, emotionally charged track that blends introspection with aggression.
