New York post-hardcore veterans Quicksand have shared another taste of their upcoming album Bring On The Psychics, unveiling the new single “Cool Guy.”
According to the band, the track serves as an old-school hardcore diss song in the spirit of classics from Minor Threat and Negative Approach.
“‘Cool Guy’ is like an OG HC diss track. Like ‘Small Man, Big Mouth’ by Minor Threat or ‘Hypocrite’ by Negative Approach. Sometimes you just gotta get those negative emotions out.”
The song arrives with an accompanying video directed by Jesse Korman, frontman of The Number Twelve Looks Like You.
“Cool Guy” is the latest preview from Bring On The Psychics, which is due out July 17. Following the album’s release, Quicksand will head out on a North American tour alongside Bane and Soul Blind.
