Red Hot Chili Peppers have reportedly sold the rights to their recorded masters to Warner Music Group (WMG) in a deal valued at around $300 million, according to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter.
The sale covers the band’s extensive studio catalog, which spans more than a dozen albums and decades of releases. Many of those records originally came out under the Warner umbrella, making the acquisition a notable full-circle moment for both the band and the label.
Initial reports from February 2025 suggested the group was shopping their masters for approximately $350 million, though the finalized deal reportedly came in slightly lower at the $300 million mark.
Neither representatives for Red Hot Chili Peppers nor Warner Music Group commented on the reported transaction when contacted.
This latest deal follows a major publishing rights sale in 2021, when the band reportedly earned around $140 million by selling their songwriting catalog to Hipgnosis Songs Fund.
With multiple platinum and gold certifications and several songs surpassing one billion streams on Spotify, the band’s catalog continues to hold significant long-term commercial value, making it a high-profile acquisition for WMG.
