Police Report Reveals New Details About Limp Bizkit Bassist Sam Rivers’ Passing

Tragic new information has surfaced surrounding the death of Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers last month. According to documents and a 911 call obtained by TMZ, the 48-year-old nü-metal icon passed away on October 18th, 2025, following a fall in a bathroom.

While the official cause of death has not yet been confirmed, the report notes injuries consistent with a pulmonary embolism — a blockage in the lungs caused by a blood clot. CPR was administered, but tragically, efforts to save Rivers’ life were unsuccessful.

Speculation had already circulated after earlier reports indicated Rivers was found nonresponsive in cardiac arrest. That report also described his passing as an “attended death,” a term typically used when a healthcare professional is present due to a life-threatening illness with imminent risk of death.

Rivers had previously been seen on tour wearing a shirt that read “fuck cancer”, a sentiment echoed by bandmate DJ Lethal on social media following the bassist’s death.
