Former Skid Row vocalist Sebastian Bach has spoken about his newly announced role as touring frontman for Twisted Sister.
Last month, the band’s planned 50th anniversary reunion run was thrown into uncertainty after longtime singer Dee Snider was forced to step down from the trek due to health concerns. With dates already booked, the remaining members opted to continue the tour with Bach stepping in behind the microphone.
Speaking during an appearance on Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk with host Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM, Bach described Twisted Sister as one of his favorite bands and recalled being a devoted fan since his teenage years.
“He said, ‘You have my full blessing.’ He goes, ‘I love you.’ I told him I loved him, and we were teary-eyed. His family was crying when he said he couldn’t do the tour.”
Bach also shared more details about the health issues preventing Snider from performing. According to Bach, Snider is dealing with severe arthritis in his knees, with doctors warning him against the physical demands of his typically high-energy stage performances.
Despite stepping away from the tour, Snider reportedly remains supportive of the band continuing on the road, even suggesting he could make a guest appearance at some of the shows if circumstances allow.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Bach recalled his early fandom for Twisted Sister, revealing that he once painted the band’s logo on his jacket with whiteout while he was still in high school.
In addition to Bach’s arrival, the band also announced another lineup update, bringing in drummer Joey Cassata—known for his work with Ace Frehley—to handle percussion duties in place of the late A. J. Pero.
