Shadow Of Intent’s Ben Duerr Issues Statement Regarding Domestic Abuse Allegations

Shadow Of Intent frontman Ben Duerr has addressed the recent domestic abuse allegations made against him. Last week, Brittney Carroll—who shares a child with Duerr—publicly accused the deathcore vocalist of abuse in a series of since-deleted posts. Alongside her claims, she shared footage of a heated argument with him, as well as images of bruises she alleged were inflicted during an altercation.

Shortly after, Carroll issued a follow-up statement clarifying her accusations. She described their now-ended relationship as “toxic,” acknowledging that both she and Duerr engaged in mutual mental abuse. She also elaborated on the physical incident in question and revealed that she is once again pregnant, with Duerr as the father.

Today, February 11th, Duerr responded with the following statement:

“Hey everyone — I need to clear up some questions that I’ve been receiving lately about Brittney Carroll (fiancée of nearly 10 years and mother of my children) and myself.

I have never abused or otherwise caused physical violence to any woman, especially not the mother of my children (and of course not while she was pregnant).

After talking, she and I have come to the agreement to part ways and are both going to therapy to be the best parents that we can be for our two kids. We both agree that the prior incident referred to in a video that she recently shared was truly an accident and are now civilly working through things for the well-being of our children.”
