British metalcore outfit Shields have released “Parasites”, the latest single from their forthcoming album Death & Connection. The full track is streaming below, with the album scheduled for release on January 30th via Long Branch Records.
Vocalist Joe Edwards shared insight on the song, explaining:
“‘Parasites’ explores the experience of sinking into depression and the warped internal relationship that develops within that state. Originally a rock song from a previous project, it was repurposed for this album. The original track already had dark undertones, which made it easy to re-frame it with moody, industrial arrangements and allow for wide dynamic shifts between sections.”
