SLAM BAND, the tongue-in-cheek side project featuring members of Filth and Serpents Breath, have returned with their third single to date, “FISHDICKS.”
As the title suggests, the new track leans heavily into the band’s trademark blend of crushing heaviness and absurd humor. Complete with comedic elements and juvenile antics, “FISHDICKS” continues the group’s mission of delivering slam-infused extremity without taking itself too seriously.
The project features Filth members alongside guitarist Zack Dufort of Serpents Breath, and has quickly carved out a reputation for pairing brutal riffs with intentionally ridiculous themes and presentation.
The title itself appears to be a nod to the infamous “Fishsticks” episode of South Park, adding another layer of humor to the band’s latest release.
“FISHDICKS” follows the group’s debut single “DOOKIE,” which arrived in May, and last month’s “BOOBIE HILL,” further expanding the growing catalog of over-the-top tracks from the emerging project.
While the subject matter may be intentionally silly, the musicianship remains firmly rooted in the extreme metal world, offering plenty of heaviness for fans of slam, deathcore, and brutal hardcore-inspired sounds.
